Join AIA Florida Northwest for our first AIA Extra event of 2021 with Karen Thornhill! Ms. Thornhill is the Floodplain Manager for Santa Rosa County and will be speaking to the Chapter about flooding and sharing strategies to mitigate flood risk on our projects. She will also share the updated FEMA Flood Maps and will review the implementation process. This AIA Extra is intended to be of benefit to all architects in our chapter and will not focus on specific requirements of Santa Rosa County. Please bring your own lunch.

More information regarding the map updates can be found at the Northwest Florida Water Management District's Virtual Flood Risk Open House . The updated maps are available for viewing via the NWFWMD's Flood Information Portal. A 90-day public comment period on the maps will soon open, and more information will be sent to members at that time.
